Notice on the 2024 Master’s Degree Admissions Regulations of Changchun Normal University

In accordance with the "2024 National Graduate Admissions Work Management Regulations" issued by the Ministry of Education (Document No. [2023] 2) and other relevant policies, and based on practical considerations, we have formulated the following admissions regulations for the 2024 Master's degree program at Changchun Normal University.

1. Planned Enrollment Numbers and Programs

In 2024, Changchun Normal University plans to admit 689 master's degree students, including 650 full-time and 39 part-time students (final numbers will be based on the quotas allocated by the Ministry of Education, and the number of recommended students will depend on the final confirmation in the recommendation system). The university will follow relevant Ministry of Education policies to recruit students for the “Minority High-Level Talent Program,” “Veteran College Graduate Soldiers Program,” and “Rural School Education Master Teacher Training Program.” The detailed enrollment plan for each discipline and program can be found in the "2024 Master’s Degree Program Catalog of Changchun Normal University."

2. Eligibility Requirements

(1) Eligibility for the National Graduate Admissions Exam:

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

1. Be a citizen of the People's Republic of China.

2. Support the leadership of the Communist Party of China, have good moral character, and abide by laws and regulations.

3. Be in good physical health according to national and university standards.

4. Academic requirements for candidates must meet one of the following conditions:

• (a) Final-year undergraduate students from nationally recognized institutions (including regular universities, adult education, and self-study programs), as well as self-taught and online education students who will graduate before the university's specified date.

• (b) Hold a recognized undergraduate degree.

• (c) Those with a recognized associate's degree and 2 or more years of work experience, or who meet the university's specific academic requirements, may apply as equivalent to an undergraduate degree holder.

• (d) Applicants with a Master's or Doctoral degree.

In-service graduate students must obtain consent from their current training institutions before applying.

(2) Eligibility for Public Administration Master's Program:

1. Meet all the conditions listed in (1).

2. Have 3 years or more of work experience after obtaining a bachelor's degree, or 5 years of work experience after an associate’s degree or bachelor's completion. Those with a Master's or Doctoral degree must have 2 years of work experience.

3. Application Process

(1) Recommended Candidates for the "Master Teacher Program":

1. Students recommended by Jilin Normal University, Jilin Agricultural University, and Yanbian University for the “Rural School Education Master Teacher Program” must fill in their application through the national recommendation system and participate in the interview. Those who are not admitted by the application deadline will lose their recommendation status.

2. The process for accepting recommended candidates is in accordance with the Ministry of Education's regulations.

(2) Candidates for National Entrance Exam:

1. Online registration and confirmation are required. All candidates must complete both steps within the given time frame.

2. Applicants must choose a designated exam center based on their university or location of work or residence.

4. Qualification Review

The university will verify applicants’ qualifications and registration information to ensure they meet the eligibility criteria. Applicants whose information is incorrect or falsified will be disqualified.

5. Preliminary Exam

1. Candidates must print their admission tickets approximately ten days before the exam.

2. The preliminary exam for the 2024 Master's program will be held from December 23 to 24, 2023.

6. Interview

1. The university will set the time, location, content, and methods for interviews according to relevant regulations.

2. Candidates with equivalent academic qualifications must take additional tests in relevant courses.

7. Adjustment Process

1. The university will provide a clear adjustment policy and publish it on the official website.

2. For candidates applying under the "Veteran College Graduate Soldiers Program," their adjustment eligibility will depend on meeting specific conditions.

8. Health Examination

After admission, the university will arrange health exams according to regulations, which include checking physical fitness and other requirements.

9. Admission

1. Admission decisions will be based on candidates' exam and interview results, as well as their physical and political qualities.

2. Those failing to meet academic or health standards will not be admitted.

10. Bonus Points Policy

1. Candidates who have participated in specific national service programs (e.g., volunteer service, teaching positions, etc.) within 3 years can receive a 10-point increase in their exam score.

2. Veterans who meet specific criteria will also receive a 10-point increase.

11. Tuition, Financial Aid, and Scholarships

1. Full-time master's students will pay between 8,000 to 15,000 yuan per year depending on the program.

2. Financial assistance includes scholarships, government aid, and positions such as teaching or research assistants.

12. Accommodation

Accommodation for graduate students is provided at 1,200 yuan per year.

13. Employment

Most graduates find employment in higher education institutions, educational agencies, public organizations, and companies. Some also proceed to doctoral studies at prestigious institutions.

14. Other Information

1. Both full-time and part-time programs follow the same policies and standards for admissions.
