Party Building Work at the School of Life Sciences

The Party Branch of our school emphasizes its own construction and development, focusing on the task of “dual creation” of Party building in the new era. With a commitment to high-quality Party building as a guide for high-quality development, the branch has made significant achievements in implementing strict Party governance and was honored as a “Model Branch” by the university.

I. Instilling Ideals and Educating with Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era

  1. Organized a series of “Learning New Points from the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party” activities. Using new media platforms, we regularly promote knowledge from the 20th National Congress, sparking enthusiasm among faculty and students to learn, ensuring that the Congress spirit truly resonates with them.

  2. Commemorated the 92nd anniversary of the Mukden Incident with the “Remembering History, Keep the Warning Alive” event, which included patriotic education, historical remembrance, and a tribute to heroes, fostering an appreciation for peace.

  3. Arranged a thematic Party Day event, “Reflecting on Glorious History, Understanding Original Mission,” where student Party members visited the Red Cultural Education Hall and the Military Support Cultural Hall in Erdao District, Changchun City. This helped students revisit the history of the Chinese Revolution and strengthened their theoretical foundation and Party spirit.

II. Learning from History to Honor the School’s Legacy

  1. Organized the “A Century of Changchun Normal University: Reflecting on School History” series, celebrating our university’s hundred-year journey, where students experience the spirit of the motto, “Learning has no limits; behave as a model,” and appreciate the dedication of generations of educators.

  2. Arranged a visit for Party branch members to the Changchun Communist Party Memorial Hall to revisit the history of student movements led by Han Shouben in 1926. Led by Branch Secretary Wang Xin and Youth League Secretary Zhao Bo, members reaffirmed their Party oaths, reinforcing their sense of belonging and honor.

III. Improving Party Member Development through Education and Training

  1. Strengthened training for Party branch committees by organizing participation in “Studying and Implementing the 20th National Congress Spirit” sessions, aligning members’ thoughts and actions with the Congress’s messages.

  2. Hosted viewings of the “Role Model” documentary series to inspire with examples of exemplary Party members and their contributions.

  3. Conducted educational training for potential Party members, using new media platforms to promote the Party admission process and knowledge of Party history, organizing Party lectures, and standardizing each step in the Party member development process.

IV. Enhancing Student Cultural Development

  1. Organized summer social practice activities, including the “Three Rural Areas” summer practice program.

  2. Arranged for students to conduct fieldwork in Changbai Mountain and Shanhaiguan, reinforcing theoretical knowledge.

  3. Actively participated in competitions such as the “Internet+” and “Challenge Cup” and the National Undergraduate Life Sciences Competition, where the school has been repeatedly awarded as an outstanding organization.

  4. Achieved excellent results in the 12th “Huawen” Biological Science Teaching Skills Test and Exchange for Normal University Students.

  5. Collaborated with Jilin Animation Academy’s Film School for a debate competition titled “Knowledge Through Debate.”

  6. Hosted the “Micro Light and Shadow: All Life Has Spirit” biology photography event under the “One College, One Brand” initiative.

  7. Organized the “Draw the Beauty of Biology, Explore the Joy of Nature” life sciences biological illustration contest.

  8. Held “One Determined Goal for Graduate Success” sessions, where faculty provided advice to students preparing for graduate exams.

V. Maintaining the Ideological Safety Baseline

  1. Held regular meetings to address ideological work, communicated the university’s instructions, assessed the ideological status of the school, and clarified specific work measures.

  2. Conducted regular self-checks on official and influential media accounts to ensure the ideological security of our platforms.

  3. Maintained close contact with faculty and students to stay informed about their thoughts. Leadership, branch secretaries, counselors, and faculty members used meetings and classes to keep an accurate grasp of public opinion.

VI. Ensuring Safety and Stability

  1. Established clear responsibilities for safety work and management roles, forming a grid-based safety management system. Regularly inspected laboratories, recorded safety checks, promptly addressed any safety risks, and held laboratory safety meetings to have responsible individuals and graduate students sign safety commitments and receive safety training.
